We spent three nights and three full days in the bottom corner of South Australia at the Pippi Shack. While we were there, we went to the Little Blue Lake, Mount Gambier which is a sink hole that’s about 50 metres across with edges upto 6-7 metres, sometimes even higher from the water after a dry summer.
There are stairs going down to a pontoon that sits a few metres into the water for an easy entry/exit and there are smaller cliffs to get started up on.
It’s a hell of a lot of fun jumping in – on a hot day this place swarms with locals making some pretty daring dives, although here’s a video of us.
It’s easy to find – only about half way to Port MacDonnell, 10 minutes from Mount Gambier. Turn right at the Bellum Hotel, at the bottom of Mount Shank Volcano and it’s no more than a few minute drive down the road.
